They are proving to be very beneficial in helping to
teach the stages of FS1 and FS2 development to those who do not have English as
their first language.
There
are six section for teaching FS1 and another six for FS2. All of the posters are
colour coded for each section. The sections cover
the six areas of learning, from mathematical
development to personal social & emotional development (in FS1 and FS2) and
were developed with the Harrow Council and the Ethnic Minority Achievement
Services (EMAS).
The
posters carry the English words above the photos and other languages below the
photos. To aid the teaching, the photos try to show what is being said in
English and then in the other languages.
The packs have so far been produced in the
following four languages (we can put up to four languages on any poster, so you
don't need a poster for each language), but others will be added soon:
Arabic.
Farsi. Somali. Tamil. (note: all four languages are on
the posters together)
